In the existing kitchen, there is not any counter space to the left of the stove to place cookware. Also note, the sink was not centered under the window
Highlights of the project include:
Centered the sink under the window:
- We moved the existing dishwasher to the short wall (where the stove was previously) to accommodate moving the sink.
Created counter space on both sides of the stove:
- We moved the existing stove to the long wall, which provided counter space on both sides.
Created more storage:
- We added a large pantry and used 36" and 42" high wall cabinets.
Eliminated the "dead" corner created by the chimney.
- We removed the bar and moved the existing refrigerator to the "dead" corner.
Other Notes:
The cost-effective solid surface countertops and undermount bowl kept the job within budget.
Improved lighting included under-cabinet task lights and properly positioned lower-profile fixtures n the high ceilings.

Solution
We rearranged existing appliances, allowing for counter surfaces on both sides of the stove, took advantage of an unused corner to add a pantry, and encased the old brick chimney chase with tile and drywall for a finished look.

The cost-effective solid surface countertops and under-mount bowl kept the job within budget.  A brand-name faucet in lifeshine stainless provides a rich look at a reasonable cost.

Improved lighting included under-cabinet task lights and properly positioning lower profile fixtures on the high ceiling.
