Bathroom Renovation
Under $60,000

Before
After

This project was the second project the homeowner has done with our company. They just finished their upstairs hall bathroom when they decided to go ahead with the master bathroom remodel.

They approached us wanting to update their bathroom. A larger shower was high on their list of priorities as well as a closet organizational system. We also updated the cabinets, flooring and all the faucetry in the area.

To give our client all the items on their wish list we had to do some minor rearranging of the walls:

We moved the wall between the shower and the closet back into the closet area to allow for a larger shower base. Although this slightly decreases the size of the closet, because of the organizational system we included they have more "functional storage" than they did in their old, larger closet.

We also widened the opening between the bathroom and the bedroom. Although some people prefer to close off the bathroom area completely from the bedroom to damper any noise coming from the bathroom, our homeowners wanted to open the area up. The new, wider opening makes the vanity feel like a part of the bedroom and in turn makes the bedroom feel larger.

Their exisiting closet had little to no organizational tools. Although it was a fairly large closet, the room was not being utilized to its full potential. We used a closet system from PlusClosets and includes such organizational items as drawers, double pole hanging space, a telescoping tie rack, belt rack and a "valet" rod (a rod that pulls out creating a temporary rod for additional hanging space. It's a perfect area to lay out clothes for the next day or an area to allow something to dry).

We used cherry Medallion cabinets with the traditional Brookhill doorstyle and a warm pecan stain. We added two wall cabinets flanking either side of the mirror to add more storage space and eliminate the need for keeping items on the vanity top. The granite top used on the cabinets gives the area a beautiful, rich look. We replaced the flooring with carpet in the closet and bedroom, but for the vanity and shower area we used a porcelain tile in a pinwheel design to add a bit of flair to the flooring. We also updated the lighting with a combination of recessed can lights and surface mounted fixtures.
