Winner of the 2010 NARI Local Contractor of the Year for Kitchen $40,000-$80,000
Before
The homeowners were dissatisfied with the floor plan, functionality, and appearance of their existing kitchen. The old kitchen was what we would expect to see in a small apartment, not a 2,000 sq ft home. The layout was cramped, storage nearly non-existent, and the space felt disconnected from the rest of the home.
Primary Goals:
- Larger kitchen that is more connected to rest of home
- Re-purpose rarely used formal dining room
- Easier to host gatherings
- Urban Chic design inspiration
- Better lighting (natural and artificial)
- More storage space
After
The new kitchen was expanded into the old formal dining room area, which more than doubled the kitchen size. The old dinette became the new, consistently used dining area. The design and layout of the new kitchen and dining area heavily centered on ease of entertaining, urban chic design, and efficient use of space.
Urban Chic:
