Project Description
Although their existing kitchen was not that old, the homeowners wanted to their kitchen to have a warm, Tuscan flair.
To get the extra space we needed to expand the kitchen area and maintain the existing dinette, an addition was necessary. Although it did not add that much square footage, the new addition now allows access to the frequently used screened-in porch from a full-glass door
Some notes on the materials...
- We replaced all of the cabinetry with Medallion Cherry cabinets. The stain color is Pecan with a Burnished Glaze with Morel Vintage painted cabinets on the island and hood as an accent color.
- We had to replace the existing wood floor because the footprint of the kitchen was changing. In its place went a new finished-in-place wood floor.
- We used a natural stone (Durango Travertine) with metal accents for the backsplash.
- A concrete countertop was used. On the island amber and red glass inserts were used.
- Notice the lighting above the cabinetry as well as under the wall cabinets.
