Designing for Personal Style
"[Our Project Manager] had great communication skills. He always kept us up to date about progress and potential issues. Although he has done many projects for us and our kitchen was merely one of them, I felt that he treated the project as his home project and he understood that it was one of our biggest investments!"

The Qian (pronounced "Chen") family came to Kresge Contracting requesting major changes to their dark, poorly designed existing kitchen.
Our goal was to create a design that would take advantage of the homeowners' personal style and maximize the use of space. We increased their available work space by elongating the island and removing the dinette. The loss of original dinette seating was compensated by adding a dining space to the end of the island. The dark cabinetry was replaced with lighter cabinets to make the room feel less confined. The glass tile backsplash combined with plentiful recessed and hanging light fitures made the kitchen feel more bright and airy. A warm, neutral floor tile replaced the old greyish tile. To improve the kitchen workflow, the appliances were placed with in a comfortable distance of each other and extra workspace was created at the rear of the bar. The end result is a lovely, well balanced kitchen that is a great fit with the homeowners' style and needs.
