New World Kitchen, Old World Style

The homeowner had a lovely home with an interesting floor plan.  However, the layout of the kitchen was poorly designed and the island orientation was inconvenient and difficult to work around with a ledge that was too small to eat on. Outdated cabinets, poor color combinations, very worn/damaged hardwood floors and little organizational tools for kitchen were also flaws that the homeowners wanted to correct.

We worked to tie the client’s tastes and decorating scheme into their renovation. Their update included replacing soffits with sophisticated crown molding and replacing the cabinets as well. We reoriented the island and moved the stove to create a more efficient work triangle, opening up space for clients or their grandchildren to enjoy breakfast or a snack. We also increased storage, organization and functionality of space by adding built-in microwave with appliance garage, pull-out spice rack with over counter cabinetry, shelving specifically for homeowner’s cookbooks, and extra drawers.

Client Feedback:

“I just wanted to drop you a note regarding our recent dealings on the remodel of our kitchen and family room. We want to confirm in writing how pleased we are with your company’s performance on this project. As you know from our mutual involvement with NARI, there are a lot of ‘good’ contractors and some ‘not so good’ ones out there. Based on our recent experience, we’re now very comfortable in saying that Kresge is one of the ‘very best’. Basically Mark, you folks did what you told us you would do, in the manner and time frame that you told us it would be done.  The changes as we went along were handled very professionally and as a result weren’t any big deal. I know that sounds trite but I fear that a lot of people don’t perform that way. By the way, we enjoyed seeing the article in the Westerville magazine. The job looked good enough that even I wouldn’t mind living ‘there’. Thanks again."- Ron and Lee Damon
