Practical Transitions

Before
Our client's existing floor plan included two half bathrooms connected by a small tub room. Each half bath opened to a different part of the house. The homeowners found this layout to be impractical and cramped. The tight space made navigation difficult. The clients also disliked their basement laundry. Since they were planning to age-in-home, a first floor laundry was more practical for them. The time had come for a more spacious plan!
After
The bathrooms were combined into one larger bathroom. A lovely tile design in the shower complemented the earthy tile floor and wall paint. Glass shelves allowed for natural light from the window to flow throughout the room. Special features include: built-in magazine organizer next to commode, recessed counter with expanded counter depth for storage and flow of room, and glass tile backsplash reflects nature theme and keeps room feeling light.
Space for a first floor laundry was taken from one of the old half bathrooms. Built-in cabinets and wall-mounted retractable ironing board made this new space organized and efficient.
