Our Process

Our process is a series of stages that build upon one another.  The choices made at each stage will help define your end result and keep your project on schedule and within budget.

Stage 1: Planning and Information Gathering

In this stage, you have contacted us via telephone, project inquiry, or through one of the events we participate in throughout the year (such as the NARI Home Improvement Showcase or the Home & Garden Show).  We will start with a short discussion over the phone to review your project's scope, type of home, location and approximate budget.  By the end of this first conversation, we will typically schedule a face-to-face meeting with you (and your spouse or significant other, if applicable) for a free 1-hour consultation at your home (or project site).

During your free 1-hour consultation, we will further discuss your project, ask specific questions, take any necessary measurements to help us give you an accurate quote, discuss whether a design is necessary, and answer any further questions you may have.  From this meeting, we will either proceed with a design agreement or have a follow up meeting to go over your custom quote and the various options available for your project.

Stage 2: The Design

A good design is a key ingredient to a successful remodel.  This is especially true when walls are being moved, mechanicals (such as electrical work) is being added or moved, and/or when significant changes are being made (such as installing new cabinets, moving islands, redesigning a bathroom).  The purpose of the design is to plan out the look and feel of your new space before a single physical change is made.  The design also allows you to see what your selections do to your final project cost - an important element to cost containment for every homeowner.

Designs are created in a computer program that allows us to show you your remodeled space in 3D.  We have found this to be an excellent tool for you to visualize their space with specific selections (such as cabinet styles, countertop colors, tile backsplashes and flooring choices) and how those selections affect the overall look of your space.  To read more about the Design Process, click here.

Stage 3: Construction

This stage consists of several sub-stages: the pre-construction meeting, demolition, construction, and clean up.  You will have a Project Manager in charge of your project.  Your Project Manager is responsible for all on-site production from start to finish.  He will oversee any carpenters or other workers on site, make sure the site is cleaned up every day and follow up with you regularly to keep you abreast with any updates to your project.  Learn more about our remodeling and construction services here.

Stage 4: Follow up and Warranty

Your satisfaction is very important to us.  Once your project is completed, you will receive a follow up letter with a "Client Satisfaction Questionnaire" asking you to rate our service, products used, subcontractors (if any) used, staff and provide any comments about your experience with us.  Your feedback helps us address any concerns you may not have discussed with us previously and helps us continuously improve our level of service for all our clients.

While you are enjoying your newly remodeled space, warranty items may arise.  It is very important that you notify us of any warranty items as soon as possible.  Our warranty includes a 1-year comprehensive workmanship warranty, a 5-year systems workmanship warranty, and a 10-year structural workmanship warranty.  You may also have warranties covering specific products used in your project, which would fall under the manufacturer's warranty.
